The new GED 2014 is coming. Make sure you know how it could affect you.
In 2014, the GED Exam will be "upgraded" to align with national common core standards. In most cases the exam will be more rigorous than the current exam, focusing on assessing critical thinking skills. Also, the exam will be entirely completed on a secured computer on our campus. While we will begin to upgrade our GED prep course to help ensure our students are prepared, we highly recommend that students interested in obtaining a GED plan to have all components passed before December 31st, 2013. After that date, ALL those seeking a GED will be required to pass ALL components of the new GED.
If you need a GED, Don't wait, Get it now. It will be more difficult in 2014.
GED Preparation
New students enrolling in the GED Preparation class must attend orientation prior to enrollment. Please register online or call (714) 842-4227, ext. 4470 for the next orientation date.
Returning students should call (714) 842-4227, ext. 4420 to schedule an appointment to enroll.
GED courses are designed to ensure that students pass all sections of the test (Science, Social Studies, Math, Reading and Writing). It is highly recommended that students take the GED preparation class before investing money in the test. Students begin by taking a diagnostic assessment that identifies their academic strengths and weaknesses and coursework is assigned based on those results.
Fee: $20 Registration Fee.
Receive a $50 discount on the GED test (entire test only) by taking the GED Preparation Class (minimum of 20 hours) and taking the CASAS Pre and Post Test.
GED Preparation classes are offered in Lab-Style classes.
Lab classes are offered from 12 pm to 3 pm or 6 to 9 pm on Mon & Wed or Tues & Thurs.
PLEASE NOTE : All GED students are required to participate in CASAS testing intermittently throughout their preparation for GED. This includes an exit test per passing the GED.
