Please read this letter carefully regarding a new requirement for all adult students who are currently enrolled in or are planning to enroll in the Huntington Beach Adult School’s Parent Education program located on the Marina High School campus. Our school district, the Huntington Beach Union High School District, has notified us that the State Senate Bill 792 requires everyone who is volunteering or working with school -age children to provide the school with proof that they currently are immunized against influenza, pertussis, and measles. If you enroll in the Parent Education program slated to begin in September, you are required to provide proof that these 3 immunizations are upto-date. Only a doctor’s note written on a prescription pad or a doctor’s office letterhead will be accepted. The immunization proof should be brought to the HBAS Campus located at 17231 Gothard Street before September 12, 2016. If you are up-to-date with these 3 immunizations, but you need more time to obtain proof, you have an additional 30 days to do so as long as you provide us with a signed statement saying you are up-to –date but need more time to provide us with proof. Please note: you and your child will be withdrawn from the program if you fail to meet this deadline. We apologize for the inconvenience this late notice may cause you. I have included two attachments that contain more specific information that may answer any further questions. You can also call our office at 714.842.4227 between the hours of 8:00 am-4:30 pm.
Thank you for your attention to the very important matter.
