Dual Enrollment
Huntington Beach Adult School HS Diploma and GED students can take college classes at a local Coast Community College tuition-free while still enrolled at HBAS (11 unit max). Dual enrollment lets you earn college credit, explore career pathways, and get a head start on your educational goals—all at no cost.
Step 1: Determine Eligibility
- Must complete at least one class per semester or one section of the GED per semester.
- Must be working towards a GED or High School diploma.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- No residency requirement.
Step 2: Meet with a Counselor

- You will complete the college application with a counselor during your counseling appointment. If you wish to start the application before, click on the orange button below in Step 3.

Step 3: Apply to Community College
📝 Apply with CCCApply- Students will receive assistance with the CCCApply application during their counseling appointment.
- You may select to opt out of the "ID.me" process.
- When asked about high school education, select attending an “adult school.”
- On the supplemental question asking which adult school, select “Huntington Beach Adult School.”
- You will receive an admissions email from the college with portal login info, your ID number, and next steps in 3–5 business days. Contact an HBAS Counselor if you don’t receive a reply.
- An HBAS Counselor will connect you to a College Counselor via Email.
Step 4: Receive ID Number and Complete the Supplemental Form
- After receiving your ID number (it will start with C0), a College Counselor will email you the link for the Supplemental Online K-12 Form.
- Complete and submit the "Adult K-12 & Noncredit Student Information" section only.
Step 5: Counselor Review and Planning
- The Adult School Administrator confirms the student’s eligibility for the program.
- You will receive an email from a community college counselor to schedule a meeting.
- The College Counselor will meet with you to create an Educational Plan and class schedule.
- During this meeting, the counselor will assist with the "College Enrollment Information" section of the form.
Step 6: Admissions Processing and Enrollment
- The Admissions Office processes the completed K-12 form.
- You will receive an email with the final steps for enrollment.
- Enroll in your approved class(es) through the MyCCC Portal.
- Congrats! You are now an HBAS and community college student.
