Ceramics: Hand-Building and Throwing
Create ceramic objects using a variety of hand building techniques, glazing and firing processes. Try your hand at shaping forms with an introduction to wheel throwing. A $25 materials fee will be due to the teacher for basic materials on the first night of class. Anything beyond this may add additional fees.
Basic Oil Painting
Learn basic principles of composition and painting still life or landscapes in oil, whether regular oil or water-based. No experience necessary. Students must furnish their own supplies (a list will be provided at the first class, approximate supply cost will be $150).
Painting Explorations: Acrylic, Oils or Mixed Media
A class designed to explore the fundamental techniques and concepts of painting, with emphasis on exploring methods of different styles of painting and creative expression. This class welcomes those with different skill levels; beginners to advanced students are welcome! Students will be asked to purchase their art supplies from a list of items they receive on the first day of class. The cost to purchase the required supplies will be approximately $45.
Learn the craft of woodworking and take the first steps into such careers as cabinet making, millwork, furniture design, and manufacturing. Instruction will cover hand tools, machine safety, plan development, lumber identification, wood joinery and finishing techniques. Students will purchase their own wood. No experience necessary.
