Coastline Community College and Golden West College as well as employment agencies to ensure that our graduates successfully move on to either college or a career programs are specifically designed to prepare you for success in college or the career that you choose to move onto after completion of your coursework when we say there is no wrong door regardless of your level of Education all your past experiences in school program can help you move towards your educational and or pre-roll as a student at our school you can expect the challenging courses this is important for our students to be competitive in college and in their career affordable instruction ESL diploma and GED classes are free in our Career and Technical courses are well price compared to a private school are highly qualified and responsive staff is constantly improving our curriculum to ensure that is both relevant and up-to-date the current expectations of colleges and the job world for diploma students we have guidance specialist who will assist you in enrolling in the classes you need for graduation for all of our students we have counselors available to help with any you may be having in your personal life or any issue you were dealing with here at the school conversations with the counselor are confidential so you can feel comfortable speaking about whatever issues you are dealing with are College and Career specialist can help you find in a Merle and one of our Career Training what are program at one of our local community colleges as you approach the completion of your diploma GED program or ESL program if you are not interested also have our job developer who helps our graduates as well as current students to find a job she's also available to help with preparing a resume and finding and preparing for an interview we also have several staff members that can help with tech support so please feel free to reach out if you're having any issues with our online classes all of these services are free all you have to do is call the office and make an appointment expect all students to be considerate of others this could mean raising your hand in order to speak in a physical classroom online class we're having any necessary conversations at a low volume in case other students are studying or taking the test Concepts or ideas in your classes or attendance you can speak with before during or after class when they are available you can also email any questions to them when we see scheduled class meetings on time and complete all assignments tests or any other activity that is put it in your program and of course expect whatever program they are in just a few notes about online etiquette it's important that you check your background possible without even thinking about it. something that is not school appropriate displayed wherever your camera is it's also important for you to dress like you would dress if you were coming to school even if you are going to school from home it's important to choose a quiet respectful okay in fear meeting you certainly don't want to be distracted by family members or anyone else that may be whatever you're studying make sure you mute student misses class they're missing out on important information of course you're going to miss the lesson for that day as well as opportunities to the students can also made out miss out on any announcements for upcoming activities running change to the schedule or location of your classes when students start to misinformation in their classes this as worry and stress survives more time trying to catch up on their own than the length of the class they missed remember when you try to find answers on the internet and they don't it's very difficult to sort through all of it and figure out who is this information when you come to class you have a single expert on the subject your teacher who can explain the misunderstanding end up having to do them again more time what's a student has missed several classes they often become bored because they don't know what's going on this can result in bad behavior and finally when you don't come to class you miss out on any opportunities or fun activities that might be happening that day here's some ways to improve attendance for anyone who was having trouble making it to class each day and on time now is the time to make any arrangements with your work supervisor family or babysitter about your class schedule don't wait until the first day of class having a phone number or email address of someone in your class is essential in case you can avoid being absent cuz they can get an extra copy of an assignment or even send you a photo of important information leaving your house 10 minutes or 15 minutes earlier catching an earlier bus also in class on time even when the bus is late but there is expected traffic if possible don't rely on others for your transportation especially if that person tends to be late and finally wearing a watch setting alerts on your phone or even setting the clock browser car 5 minutes fast can make a big difference in getting to class on time we expect our students to be accountable for their own success and their classes this means completing all assignments on time understanding and accepting the school rules and the rules for each instructor owning your mistakes the skills to overcome this obstacle is a powerless way of thinking it will help you when you think that your barrier is something that you can overcome you put in the effort to come up with a plan to deal with it like asking for help if you become familiar with the details of how your barrier is affecting you you can help problem solve this barrier so thinking in these ways did you power over any status so that means not only good attendance but also completing activities and assignments correctly in on time you can apply for financial assistance online but you will be required for confirmation of Eligibility through various documents the kind of financial assistance that you could receive depends on the program that you're in for our ESL classes or English classes you may be able to receive a free textbook for our diploma and GED classes we provide internet access for those checking out a Chromebook and a hotspot for Wi-Fi internet at home or wherever you choose to study
