Resource & Health Fair

We had an amazing turnout for our second annual Community Resource & Health Fair.  Over 200 attendees (many bussed in from our other campuses) connected with 47 community organizations.  This was an incredible opportunity for our students and the public to learn about health, housing, food, legal services and much more.

HBAS was on hand with information on our programs, while our medical assistant students offered vital signs and glucose checks in their classroom.  We also had room full of men's suits, generously donated by Working Wardrobes.  HBAS gave out 93 suits to students and event volunteers.

During the event, many attendees stopped by the LifeStream trailer to donate blood.  LifeStream was happy to report that they "registered 20 first time donors and collected 26 lifesaving donations. Because they separate each donation into 3 products we’ll be able to help 78 local hospital patients."  What an amazingly generous community we have!

Thanks to all of our partners, staff, volunteers and students who helped make the Community Resource & Health Fair a huge success.
