Willie Lacap is our network technician and resident superhero. So much of what we do at HBAS is dependent on technology. When technical difficulties occur, we know we can count on Willie to help us get back on track. Willie truly goes above and beyond the call of duty.
A 20-year veteran at HBUHSD, Willie is one of the most dedicated and hardworking individuals we know. He is the first one at work and is always quick to respond when issues arise. Whether it's a computer crash, network repair, password recovery, or helping a teacher access their school email for the first time, no job is too big or too small for Willie.
While many of our district’s network technicians are based at one campus, Willie takes care of several sites scattered throughout Huntington Beach, Westminster, Fountain Valley, and Costa Mesa. And as if that wasn't enough, Willie is also called over to help with issues at the district office and other high schools. No matter who he is assisting, Willie is glad to lend a hand.
And of course, we can't forget Willie's sense of humor. How many "techies" do you know that can fix your computer and make you laugh at the same time? Willie is a humble team player who always goes the extra mile for his friends, family, co-workers, and our district without hesitation. We are proud to call him our 2019 Classified Employee of the Year. Congratulations, Willie!
