My name is Lisa Marcinko. I'm known as Miss Lisa with Parent Smart Preschool I've been doing this now for about 20 years. I started out with my own son in the program and we have lifelong friends from this program, so it's beautiful because it's parents and kids together learning and growing. The parents who are involved in the program really are helping set up their children for a foundation for Success socially and emotionally and an academically of course, but the fun part is that when I came to the program I thought I was going to get my son socialize but I got socialized. We really like it here, Miss Lisa has created a community among the kids and the parents where everyone feels comfortable. He really loves this class, he loves Miss Lisa, he loves his friends he's made and it's been a really great experience I've had two children in Miss Lisa's program at Parent Smart Preschool She just gets the kids ready for Pre-K and kindergarten and they really thrive in her classroom I learned to work with other parents on how to help my child do well in a group dynamic, how to help coping skills myself so that I could be the kind of parent that I wanted to be, and everyone in this class is working together and learning together to provide a warm environment. We know that every child is different, every parent is different, and every parent-child relationship is different, so I know that it's a privilege and an honor to work with the parents and the kids at this precious time of life 'cause it does go so fast. I felt like I was just here yesterday with my son and he's 22 now so this time it feels like the saying is "The days are long but the years are short," so we really in this program just embrace that, we embrace that this is precious time together and we're so blessed to have this time together. So I'm excited to show the program. This is the rare time when it's quiet in here. In a minute the kids will be here and it's going to be fun and crazy and chaos and the parents will be here and they will also add their own fun and crazy and chaos, but the beautiful thing is we work really hard in this class, we support each other and we're joking around all the time. We've been here about maybe three to four sessions and we love the class because it's a great place for them to interact with other kids, learn to develop socially, emotionally, and just get ready for preschool. And my kid's extremely wild, so it's a great way to get him to expel his energy, it's just a really good environment and Miss Lisa is awesome.
