This course will provide students with the basic knowledge and skills needed in the medical field to progress to the next level of knowledge and skills in the medical assisting curriculum. The goal for all students learning medical terminology is to understand the words used in the medical profession and be able to describe the human body in health and in illness, and in current methods of diagnosis and treatment. Course work is designed to help the student understand the language used in the medical field as well as the need for privacy related to patient information in records and the medical field in general (HIPAA).
