Medical Terminology

In the health care industry, medical terminology is essential knowledge.  At HBAS, we offer Medical Terminology as required coursework for our Medical Assistant and Medical Billing and Coding programs.

This fall, we are offering an online, fast-tracked Medical Terminology class. This foundational course will lay the groundwork for success in any area of medicine.

Medical Terminology (Online): Topics include terminology related to anatomy, physiology, body systems, disease processes, procedures, abbreviations, and law & ethics necessary to work in the medical field.
    - Oct 20 – Nov 19
    - Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5:30pm-9pm

Students will then be ready to start one of our Allied Health programs in November.

This session of Medical Terminology is taught by Alan Bell.  Here's what a couple recent students had to say about Mr. Bell, who also teaches the Medical Assistant Program:

I wanted to reach out and let you know what a great experience I had in your class. You have no idea what an  impact on my life you have made.   Starting life over at my age isn't easy. You continued to encourage me and wouldn't let me give up when I was at my wit's end. You are a great instructor, teacher and friend. Thank you for everything Mr. Bell!!!

The Medical Assistant program is a fast-paced, three month long program, but don’t let that scare you. I enjoyed learning new things every day, especially during quarantine! Mr. Bell was an excellent teacher for this program. He engages with his students and cheered us on every step of the way! I feel confident stepping into the medical field with everything I’ve learned and accomplished.
